We’re looking for independent, expert members to join our Audit and Governance Committee for Tees Valley Combined Authority and Hartlepool Development Corporation and to provide valuable oversight into transformative schemes.
Tees Valley Combined Authority is working hard to create jobs, boost the economy and transform Tees Valley – and we need your help.
Alongside the work of Tees Valley Combined Authority, Hartlepool Development Corporation are driving forward major regeneration and investment projects that will shape the future of the region for generations to come.
As part of the governance and transparency arrangements for these organisations, statutory Audit and Governance Committees provide independent oversight of financial statements, audit arrangements, internal controls and compliance with laws and regulations.
We are seeking independent members to support this important work across Tees Valey Combined Authority and Hartlepool Development Corporation.
These voluntary roles are highly rewarding and provide an opportunity to contribute directly to the good governance and effective stewardship of public resources across Tees Valley.
Members are required to attend a minimum of three meetings each year.
Tees Valley Combined Authority is working to create jobs, drive economic growth and transform Tees Valley. It is led by the elected Tees Valley mayor and is a partnership of five authorities; Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees who, work with the business community and other stakeholders to make local decisions to support the growth of our economy.
It has a ten-year Investment Plan worth more than £1.7bn, with powers, responsibilities and funding over business support and growth; inward investment; employment, education and skills; transport and infrastructure; culture and tourism; research and development; net zero; and housing
Hartlepool Development Corporation is working to regenerate the town's centre, driving investment and cutting red tape. It aims to draw on the town's rich heritage to revitalise the areas, create thousands of jobs and build thousands of homes while protecting and enhancing key landmarks and assets to make Hartlepool an even better and safer place to live, do business and visit.
