We have made huge progress since our creation seven years ago, and we are not stopping now. We are driving forward the redevelopment of our transport network; revitalising training and education; boosting our businesses; championing culture and tourism and supporting our boroughs in improving our towns and communities.
These devolved powers from Government are backed up by substantial funding, with a ten-year Investment Plan outlining how £588million of spending will support the creation of 16,785 jobs and an additional £1.48billion to the area’s economic output.
Our Group also has responsibility for Teesside International Airport and the South Tees Development Corporation, covering the Teesworks site – the UK’s largest industrial zone and at the heart of the Teesside Freeport – to cement our potential for global investment and regeneration and push boundaries like never before.
Two new Mayoral Development Corporations have been formed to transform Hartlepool and Middlesbrough town centres, through driving investment and cutting red tape for planning – making our towns places where people will aspire to live, work and play.

Spearhead financial plans and strategies that meet our corporate objectives and keep us driving our region forward, including responsibility for monitoring the Combined Authority’s financial position.
