The Combined Authority plays an important role as the Tees Valley’s Transport Authority, with overall responsibility for an effective transport system.
This includes an interest in all modes of transport, from national and international road and rail links and local rail and bus services to investment in key routes that cross borough boundaries and green transport initiatives. The Combined Authority’s Transport Committee oversees the delivery of these responsibilities, supported by a network of officers drawn from the councils. The Combined Authority also works closely with rail and bus operators, Teesport and Teesside International Airport.
