12 Months of More Jobs and Investment
A message from the Tees Valley Mayor
We’ve had yet another fantastic year, with 2024 bringing major developments the length and breadth of Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool.
We’ve reached huge milestones with multimillion-pound station renovations at Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Eaglescliffe – as well as setting out an ambitious transport plan for the future. We’ve been able to support businesses to grow and help people into work with a huge package of funding. Huge events such as Take That, James Arthur and the British National Cycle Championships boosted our economy. At Teesworks, SeAH Wind’s £900million monopile production facility is nearing completion, we are pushing ahead with the £4billion NZT project and the first phase of the Steel River Quay now operational. Finally, right at the end of the year, we also secured flights to Malaga from Teesside while scooping the British Travel Awards Airport of the Year gong for the second year running.
You can’t say it’s been uneventful, but now it’s time to take a step back and relax. Whatever you’re doing this Christmas and New Year, I hope you have a great time, and we’ll go again in 2025!
