The easiest way to view, check the progress of or submit a comment on a planning application is through our Planning Public Access system, our database for planning applications.

We can accept comments via post or online via planning public access or email. We cannot accept your comments verbally, either on the telephone or in person.
By law all comments received must be open to public inspection and will be available for public inspection on our Planning Public Access database. We do not accept anonymous comments.

To submit a comment online via Planning Public Access you must register an account. Registering enables you to track the progress of an application and receive an email notification when the decision is made. Comments made online will appear immediately.

All comments, including your name and address will be published on Planning Public Access.
We do not confirm receipt of comments. You can check the ‘Public Comments’ or ‘Documents’ area on Planning Public Access to see if it’s been added.
Your comments help the case officer understand the impact of the development. We consider all planning related comments, but objections do not always lead to refusal. Planning decisions are based on local policies, not the number of comments.
Most applications have a 21 day consultation period.
You can find the deadline for comments on Public Access. We may not consider comments made after the deadline.
By law, all comments are public and will be made available for public inspection, and on the internet, in accordance with the Access to Information Act.
