Middlesbrough’s Boho Zone is the digital and creative hub of Tees Valley. Made up of eight units with different specifications to suit any digital or creative business, from start-up to scale-up and large-scale expansion, all of the buildings are located close to the centre of town. Boho is a place for like-minded digital and tech experts to develop their talents. From their inception to their expansion, businesses have been created and nurtured by local talent. Many have global clients and are improving and developing digital processes for firms across a wide range of industries.

Flexibility and Choice

Boho One is the flagship building for DigitalCity Business and the heart of the Boho Zone – the commercial quarter for the town’s digital media, digital technology and creative sectors. Bohouse is the second development in the Boho Zone. It offers live/work units, which sits alongside Boho One. It’s designed to offer flexible space to work from home and set up your new business in the digital and creative industries.

Platform Arts, the third development in the Boho Zone, occupies purpose-built studios within Middlesbrough railway station. Housed in the old British Rail parcel store and fish quay, it provides professional artists and craftspeople with studio space.

 

Gibson House, known as Boho 4, is one of Middlesbrough’s oldest buildings. It offers a genuine creative hub where new businesses, established successful companies and support agencies work together. Renovation of the classical building was carefully planned to ensure office users benefited from a completely flexible and simple solution to their business needs. Boho 5 offers office accommodation for up to 50 small and medium sized enterprises in the digital and creative sector. Office sizes range from 100 to 1000 sq. ft.

 

Crown House, or Boho 6, has been beautifully restored keeping much of its original character and offers excellent office space with high-speed broadband and is just minutes from the railway station.

Boho is continuing to expand, with Boho 8 delivering 9,000 sq ft of high-quality office accommodation for the digital and creative sector. Keys are soon to be handed over to the first tenants in the seven-storey Boho X, a 60,000sq ft building attracting more cutting-edge digital businesses to the region.

Based in Boho One, Double Eleven is an independent UK developer and publisher of interactive digital entertainment. It is one of the UK’s key providers of development and publishing services to the video game industry. The Boho Zone is also home leading businesses in the AR, VR and gaming industry, such as Animmersion, Behaviour UK North (previously Sock Monkey) and Radical Forge.
