Making sure that our adult skills provision directly meets the needs of local employers means we can help equip the Tees Valley workforce with the right skills, qualifications and tools needed to help businesses meet their goals.
We work closely with Tees Valley employers to continually develop this provision, as well as identifying and supporting transferable skill routeways and specialist skills provision.

The Apprenticeship Support Grant is designed to help employers who are committed to creating a new apprenticeship, or progressing their existing apprentice onto a higher level of apprenticeship.

Find Out MoreSkills Bootcamps are flexible training courses for adults aged 19 and over. They last up to 16 weeks and offer participants a job interview on completion.
You can use this scheme to hire new staff or upskill existing staff who may need to update or formalise their skills or learn new specialist skills to develop in their role or take on a new one.
Employers who would like to access courses for existing staff are required to contribute to the cost of learning (10% SME and 30% for a large employer). The cost varies for each Skills Bootcamp and can be discussed with the individual training Provider.
Skills Bootcamps are funded by the Department for Education, as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, and provided locally through the Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Find Out MoreAn electric motorbike or bicycle can be hired from the scheme from £21 a week to support eligible Tees Valley residents who are unable to access employment or training due to living in remote areas which are currently not well serviced by public transport links or who work outside of normal working hours.
The scheme is designed to provide an innovative way of overcoming transport barriers by hiring an electric motorbike or electric bicycle to working age people in the Tees Valley for up to a six-month period, until a longer-term transport solution can be found.
