Eaglescliffe Rail Station Western Access
GROWING POPULARITY AND FUTURE DEMAND
Over 200,000 people use Eaglescliffe station per year. Its popularity has risen since Grand Central services started running to London 15 years ago. This has made it the 7th most popular station in Tees Valley. It is also a stop for regular Northern services on the Darlington to Saltburn route.
The west side of the track offers significant potential demand from major employers. There is also scope for future development. TVCA and our partners aim to improve station accessibility. Our plan for Eaglescliffe will accommodate future demand for passenger rail services and support local housing and economic growth.
MAKING EAGLESCLIFFE STATION ACCESSIBLE TO ALL
A new bridge will fully span the breadth of the tracks from east to west providing full accessibility to the station from both sides via new lifts. Additionally, there will be various upgrades to station buildings, waiting areas, and passenger facilities. Better walking and cycling connections will improve residential access to the station
