Tees Valley Festival Scale Up Programme
Project Overview
Festivals and events play a vital role in bringing communities together, transforming experience and perceptions of place and attracting visitors to the region. TVCA are supporting a portfolio of nine Tees Valley-based festivals that have high growth potential, through a 4-year programme of holistic and bespoke support, from 2022 – 2026. Support will include a mix of grant funding, training, specialist information, advice and guidance, access to industry or professional services support, mentoring, and access to a peer-to-peer network. Grant funding and support is expected to taper in line with scale up/growth.
Aims and Objectives of the project
- Increased profile of Tees Valley festivals
- Increased audiences & reach
- Higher number of visitors staying longer in the region
- Sustainable business models developed through:
- Increased contributed income (i.e., business sponsorship, donations)
- Increased earned income (i.e., commercialisation/export potential, IP, tax relief)
- Increased inward investment/leveraged funds (e.g., from national / regional funding bodies)
- Increased organisational capacity, skills and knowledge
- High quality, year-round festivals offer
- Enhanced sector leadership capacity and capability, including in areas of specific need i.e., networks, talent development, diversity & inclusion, accessibility, green agenda etc
