Tees Valley’s £160million Investment Zone is the UK’s only investment zone dedicated to accelerating the digital and creative sectors, helping businesses grow and strengthening our position as a leading destination for innovation, investment and opportunity.
Tees Valley is becoming a UK powerhouse for world-class digital and creative enterprise, innovation and content where creativity sparks, industries scale and ideas go global. By uniting talent, business and research, we’re driving growth, fuelling exports and building thriving places where communities, enterprise and opportunity flourish.
Led by Tees Valley Combined Authority in partnership with Teesside University, the Investment Zone is supported by £160million of Government funding to drive inward investment, productivity and job creation.
The programme is strengthening infrastructure, skills, workforce development and business support – helping unlock significant private investment and create high-quality jobs across the region.
The Investment Zone is driving a vibrant innovation ecosystem, anchored by rapidly growing clusters in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough, but with effects that will benefit and support every corner of the region.

Teesside University is a centre for excellence in digital innovation and our key research partner in delivering Investment Zone Research and Development opportunities.
It will deliver high-impact interventions including PhD studentships, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, innovation vouchers, innovation Fellows and proof of concept funding.
