Bookings Open For Businesses to Back Our Armed Forces at Airport Event

Businesses and organisations have been urged to back our Armed Forces at an event at Teesside Airport.

Bookings are now open for a Bugle Breakfast event on Thursday, 12 February, for businesses and groups to attend and sign the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Covenant is a national promise to support those who serve, or have served, and their families.

The scheme secures pledges to make sure veterans, reservists and their loved ones are treated fairly, recognised for their skills and given real opportunities.

Dame Susan Snowdon, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham, Tom Bryant, Chief Executive of the Tees Valley Combined Authority, Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen, and Phil Forster, Managing Director of Teesside Airport, will attend the Breakfast event from 11am.

8th Rifles, Bishop Auckland, will also be in attendance with live buglers offering a performance ahead of networking opportunities with business leaders, reservists and dignitaries, where you can learn about how your organisation can benefit from joining the Armed Forces Covenant.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “We’re proud to stand with businesses in backing our Armed Forces community and show what Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool are all about.

“I was proud to sign the Covenant on the authority’s behalf almost six years ago and it’s great the Airport has joined the cause this year.

“We want more of our brilliant local businesses and organisations to sign up to back our service personnel and their loved ones who’ve given so much to our country.”

By signing the Covenant, organisations and individuals publicly show their support and commitment to the Armed Forces community.

Booking ahead is essential if you wish to sign the Covenant to finalise pledges, certificates and checks.
