Broadband Consultation

Business & Invest | Published on: 20th July 2016

Broadband is often described as the fourth utility after gas, electricity and water.  The internet increasingly impacts every aspect of our lives and access to superfast broadband is becoming increasingly more important.

The Digital Durham Partnership includes 10 local authority partners including [your council name].  All the councils in the programme area are working together with Broadband Delivery UK to improve access to broadband services in areas which would otherwise miss out.  Digital Durham aims to provide homes, businesses and communities with access to fast, fibre broadband across the area.

To ensure that we continue to invest in the right areas, we must first carry out consultation with broadband wholesale providers.

The information provided on broadband coverage includes known plans up to December 2018 and forms the basis of this consultation.

For more information regarding the programme, please read the consultation documentation available at http://www.durham.gov.uk/article/7329
