Tees Valley Combined Authority | Published on: 30th March 2026
Businesses have been urged to book and attend a new series of drop-in sessions to help shape the future of digital connectivity and get the services they need.
The Digital Connectivity Business Drop-Ins will give firms the chance to speak directly with the Combined Authority’s digital team, share their experiences, and help influence the support and infrastructure needed to drive growth.
Digital connectivity plays a crucial role in modern business – from reliable broadband and mobile coverage to the use of smart technologies that improve productivity, efficiency and competitiveness.
These sessions are designed to ensure local companies have the tools and infrastructure they need to succeed.
Delivered by the Combined Authority’s Digital team, the drop-ins will take place across the region throughout April, offering flexible, informal opportunities for businesses to engage.
Firms attending will be asked to share insights on whether their current connectivity meets their needs, how digital tools could support their growth, and what additional services could strengthen the region’s offer.
There will be a particular focus on engaging digital and creative businesses in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool, helping to inform plans for the Tees Valley Investment Zone and its ambition to deliver world-class digital connectivity in key cluster areas. However, businesses from all sectors and all parts of the Tees Valley are encouraged to attend.
Sessions will be held at Stockton Employment and Training Hub, on Tuesday, 14 April, Teesside Launchpad in Middlesbrough on Wednesday, 15 April, the BIS in Hartlepool on Wednesday 22 April, the National Horizons Centre in Darlington on Tuesday 28 April, and The Palace Hub in Redcar on Wednesday 29 April.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “We’re determined to make sure our businesses have the digital infrastructure they need to grow, compete and create jobs. Whether it’s fast, reliable internet, better mobile coverage or making the most of new technologies, this is all about giving our firms the tools to succeed.
“These sessions are a chance for businesses to tell us directly what works, what doesn’t and what more we need to do. We’ve got huge ambitions for digital growth in Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool – and by working together, we can make sure no business is left behind as we build a stronger, more connected economy.”
Cllr Alec Brown, TVCA Cabinet Member for Business Growth and Net Zero and Leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, added: “Strong digital connectivity drives growth. It underpins innovation, improves productivity and opens new markets for our local firms.
“These drop-in sessions are an important opportunity for businesses to help shape the support available to them. By understanding the challenges they face and the opportunities they want to seize, we can ensure our approach is targeted, practical and delivers real benefits for businesses across the Tees Valley.”
Booking is not essential, but businesses are encouraged to register in advance to help manage demand.
