Members of the public are being encouraged to give their views on updated proposals aimed at improving travel across Tees Valley.
Detailed plans have been developed for multiple locations in and around our five town centres to make travel smoother and better for people walking, wheeling, or cycling.
A wide-ranging consultation was launched last July on proposals aimed at boosting connectivity and road safety.
Public engagements were held focusing on improving active travel – walking, wheeling and cycling – as part of a wider £310million in secured regional funding for transport.
Changes now have been made to nine projects following responses from the public, covering updates to new pedestrian and cycle crossings; upgraded footpaths and cycle links.
The public is now being invited to give their views on the amended proposals ahead of final designs
The locations where updated changes are proposed are:
Darlington
Hartlepool
Middlesbrough
Redcar and Cleveland
Stockton
To find out more about the proposals, members of the public can visit the Tees Valley transport consultations page.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “It’s essential that the public have their say on any proposed transport changes as they are the people who know their local area best.
“By getting feedback from residents and businesses, it ensures that we are introducing changes which improve journeys and make life easier for people.”
