Local Businesses Snap-Up Opportunities To Back Teesside Airport

Businesses from across the Tees Valley have quickly snapped up key marketing sites within the new-look terminal primed to target the new passengers coming back through its doors.

Following a multi-million-pound transformation and the growth in new UK and international destinations, local firms are queuing up to get a piece of the action.

Stockton-based Teesside Rigging & Lifting, which offers steel erection services for both the onshore and offshore sectors, is putting itself front-and-centre with large wall advertisements highlighting its work.

MAP Group, which provides technology services to the communications sector, has also become a major sponsor with further adverts in the building.

They join logistics firm AV Dawson, Attis Insurance Brokers, Barrier Architectural Services, Cornerstone Business Solutions, Endeavour Law, drainage servicers Gee Dee Plant, builders merchant Joseph Parr, training provider Learning Curve and Recognition PR, who have all thrown their weight behind the airport.

The displays will ensure that all eyes are on some of the region’s biggest firms as domestic and international flights and passenger numbers continue to grow. Both Loganair’s major connection with London Heathrow and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ recently reintroduced link to Amsterdam Schiphol will be critical for businesses as Government continues to review relaxing rules on international travel following the coronavirus pandemic.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “We have scores of brilliant businesses across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool and they now have an opportunity to get themselves seen by the ever-growing number of people using our airport, while helping to support their local airport.

“As we look to capitalise on our Freeport status and drive investment at Teesworks, our airport Southside development and across our entire region, this will make sure would-be investors from across globe know about the great companies that they could work alongside, driving more money into our supply chains.

“Since day one, I’ve said this airport will work for everyone, not just for those wanting flights to Alicante – though we have those too! This is yet another way our airport is making sure our businesses thrive, after it employed local firms to carry out 92% of all of the recent airport redevelopment work.”
