Multi-Billion Pound Tees Valley Projects Promoted At Global Investor Event

Transformational projects across Tees Valley have been highlighted to global investors at one of the UK’s largest property and investment events.

A delegation from the region’s five local authorities – Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees – promoted ambitious regeneration schemes, town centre transformations, and cutting-edge innovation projects at the UK Real Estate Infrastructure and Investment Forum (UKREiiF) 2025, in Leeds.

Across the three days, they were joined by Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen, leaders from the Tees Valley Combined Authority and Teesworks, digital developers, and business leaders – all working together to promote a multi-billion pound wave of investment.

The event is a key platform for developers, investors, and local authorities to connect, collaborate and accelerate regeneration. It is the third time Tees Valley delegation has had a major presence.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “The reception our projects received – from the massive redevelopment at Teesworks in Redcar and Cleveland, to Darlington cementing its place as a civil service powerhouse, to Hartlepool’s rapidly expanding film studios – shows the national and international confidence we’re building.

“It was a real privilege to help launch Crown Square – finally bringing long-overdue action to the heart of Middlesbrough with a £200million vision to transform the town for generations to come.

“These events are more than just talk – they’re the shopfront to show off our ambition and bring even more investment through the door. That means more good-quality, well-paid jobs for local people, more money in their pockets, better services, and ultimately a healthier and happier region. That’s the big picture and, ultimately, my number one priority.

“From the exciting innovation zone plans in Stockton, to new regeneration and more civil service jobs in Darlington, we’re seeing projects breathing new life into every part of our region – and it’s vital we keep showing up to keep that momentum going.”

The packed three-day event saw presentations on the transformative potential of the region’s two new Mayoral Development Corporations and the wider £160million Investment Zone driving forward the digital and creative industries.

Tuesday marked the official launch of Crown Square, a flagship £200million redevelopment plan to reimagine central Middlesbrough by attracting and retaining talent, delivering high-quality accommodation, and boosting economic activity in the town centre.

Meanwhile, Wednesday saw Stockton’s leadership promote Tees Central, an ambitious plan to create a new Care and Health Innovation Zone on the town’s redeveloped waterfront – part of a strategy to make Stockton a national leader in health innovation and public service delivery.

K2 Construction Management, Double Eleven, North East Screen, Generator, Pneuma Group, Teesside University, Alt Labs and Radical Forge were among the businesses and organisations also on hand to talk up the region.

Siobhan McArdle, Chair of the Tees Valley Business Board, added: “Our presence at UKREiiF underlined the confidence and capability of Tees Valley’s business community to help drive real, meaningful change. It was inspiring to see our public and private sectors standing shoulder to shoulder, telling a joined-up story of transformation, talent and tenacity.

“We are not just breaking boundaries – we’re redefining what this region can achieve. The scale of ambition on display this week shows that Tees Valley is not only open for business but leading from the front. That should give every investor, employer and resident real cause for optimism.”
