The views of industry and business leaders are wanted as part of a major focus on skills training in Tees Valley.
Tees Valley Combined Authority is responsible for adult skills across the region by providing support to help people secure employment and develop their careers.
A wide range of funded support is currently available through the TVCA-administered Adult Skills Fund delivered by local councils, colleges, and independent training providers.
The views of companies are now being sought to ensure skills needs are being met to support future growth and local residents are being equipped with the most appropriate training to move into jobs.
Funding will also support the training of the existing local workforce to drive career progression and the creation of new jobs.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “It’s essential that our fantastic local businesses have access to the best quality training to develop skills in their organisation and drive the growth of our local economy.
“The training must also meet the needs of our local workforce as we continue to develop Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool as a centre for industries ranging from clean energy to digital.
“But we can only achieve this with the support of local industry and training providers, and it’s therefore vital that we hear from them about how the future of adult skills training should be developed.”
“This next year will further shape and transform the future skills programmes across the Tees Valley but we can’t do this without further input from local businesses.”
