The first phase of the programme 2017-2018 has supported the following:

Project Amount of funding
Festival of Thrift (Festival of Thrift CIC)

The Glass Ceiling (Periplum)

An ambitious new outdoor visual theatre work marking 100 years since the first British women were given the right to vote. Inspired by the Suffragettes & Suffragists, it brings together innovative new staging & pyrotechnic design, original music composition, new writing & aerial performance.

£85,000
Great Exhibition of the North (Animmersion UK Ltd)

This project, with digital media firm Animmersion, allowed the Tees Valley to have a strong presence at the Great Exhibition of the North, showcasing state-of-the-art digital technology, innovation and creativity of Tees Valley companies. The new virtual reality technology appeared in five different places in the Exhibition, branded as from the Tees Valley and supported by TVCA, and will be used to collaborate with local artists, allowing them to develop content.

Over 1 million people attended the exhibition, and a similar number of people join the Exhibition online giving further global exposure our region’s digital creativity. This project supported the SEP ambitions around culture development and engagement, building digital technology capacity, and raising the profile of Tees Valley business strengths.
