At the heart of Hartlepool’s Innovation and Skills Quarter, The Northern School of Art (previously known as CCAD) created a new state-of-the-art teaching facility, providing 45,000sq ft of teaching and administration space for degree courses.
The campus facilities include flexible studio space, two seven-metre double-height studios for photography and TV or film work and a refectory area and gallery, ensuring students can access the highest level of creative industry education in the North East. The old premises at The Northern School of Art were no longer fit for purpose and able to accommodate the curriculum areas or the growth plans that The Northern School of Art wish to deliver from its Hartlepool base. The Northern School of Art offers specialist provision and a key asset in Tees Valley.
This as the first phase to deliver the Innovation Skills Quarter and other projects are supported by the Combined Authority.
