Following the recent merger between NETA and Stockton Riverside College, a strategic review of NETA’s facilitites was carried out. This highlighted a need for significant investment to upgrade existing facilities and to create additional capacity to deliver new provision. As a result, this project was supported through the Local Growth Fund to upgrade facilities at Pennine Avenue and secure new premises, to deliver provision meeting the needs of the renewables and low carbon sector, and establish an independent technical assessment centre. The creation of this Skills Hub will increase engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) provision for young people aged 14 and over.
The improved facilities will help NETA deliver the following:
- Formula 1 Schools Challenge
- The Sustainability Centre
- Tecnical Testing and Reskilling Centre
- Industry Relevant Welding Provision
