Tees Valley Business Leaders
WANTED: VISIONARY BUSINESS LEADERS WITH A PASSION FOR THE TEES VALLEY
The Tees Valley Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership are looking to recruit business leaders to deliver our ambitious economic plans.
The Tees Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), chaired by Paul Booth, works closely with the wider business community and other partners to drive forward economic growth and job creation in the area. In May 2017, the residents of the Tees Valley elected a Mayor, Ben Houchen, who chairs the Tees Valley Combined Authority, which works in partnership with the LEP and the 5 Council Leaders.
Our LEP business members play a vital role in ensuring our strategies and plans support private sector growth, and address barriers to business success. LEP members typically work to support our strategies for skills and employment, improve transport infrastructure, promote finance for business, and promotion of the Tees Valley to inward investors. By becoming Associate Members of the Combined Authority Cabinet, they influence decision-making, and have a real and direct impact on the Tees Valley’s economic future. Part of a national network of LEP members, they have influence nationally and across the North of England.
We are now looking to add to the strong group of business leaders we have on the Local Enterprise Partnership, and recruit new members to ensure an active and diverse group of business leaders. We would particularly encourage applications from business leaders in the digital or cultural sector and from the SME community.
We are looking for business leaders to:
- Support and offer advice to the LEP, Mayor and the Combined Authority;
- Champion and promote specific initiatives from the perspective of business;
- Represent the SME community;
- Represent the Tees Valley nationally and internationally;
- Ensure a strong voice over decision-making;
- Help us deliver our Strategic Economic Plan.
