Welcome to the Tees Valley Apprenticeship Hub, your one stop shop for Apprenticeship information.
Apprenticeships are a great opportunity to work for a real employer and gain practical, workplace skills. You earn a real salary and gain a real qualification as well as invaluable experience.
Apprenticeships are available across all industries and have three main elements:
- A competence based element
- A technical element
- A skills based element
The three elements are sometimes accompanied by additional qualifications by the College of Further Education to give the most relevant skills and knowledge required for the job.
There are three levels of apprenticeships
- Intermediate level – equivalent to a level 2 (GCSE) qualification
- Advanced level – equivalent to a level 3 (A-level) qualification
- Higher/degree apprenticeships – equivalent to a level 4-7 qualification (Diploma of higher education to Master’s Degree). The Higher/degree Apprenticeships E-prospectus will help you to find out who’s offering higher/degree apprenticeships in Tees Valley, click here to visit the E-prospectus
Once an apprenticeship is complete, you can go into employment, further apprenticeship or university.
