Following the award of UK Government funding to Tees Valley Combined Authority and bus operators through the Zero Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) scheme, we invited local children aged 11 and under to submit name suggestions and showcase their artistic talents by drawing their own zebra design for the new electric bus fleet coming to Stagecoach’s Stockton depot. This investment will make Stagecoach’s depot the first fully electric depot in the North East.
Overall, we received 620 fantastic entries, making it a very tough job to pick out the winners! The competition has now closed, and we are excited to share the winning drawings and name suggestions.
The winning 64 zebra drawings will be showcased on the new buses, giving young artists the opportunity to see their work travelling throughout the Tees Valley. The chosen names will also appear on the buses, allowing the children to leave a lasting mark on this new fleet and be a part of this significant investment towards sustainability.
