Landlord closed popular pub after being hit with 300% rent increase, now he has keys to new venture:
He’s taken on The Oak Tree pub at Middleton-St-George and is busy putting his own stamp on the place. And while fans were “absolutely gutted” to see The Derry go, they say they “can’t wait” to see the new venue open.
“We haven’t got an official opening day yet but the builders are on site,” Chris said. “The Derry had changed hands every year for six years before I took it on, it never had a secure tenant.
