We’ve compiled a list of six reasons why Nightfall should be top of your Winter bucket list….

  1. You’ll Meet Some Nocturnal Illuminated Friends

This year’s trail is more magical than ever before as the park springs to life after dark.  Imagine towering flowers blooming above your head, have a hoot with some owl-mazing giant owls, take a selfie with a giant cunning fox and get ready to fall in love with a fluffle (yes, that’s a real word!) of curiously luminous rabbits that leap, play, and dance before your eyes! The Nightfall team are announcing a new artwork each week, so keep an eye on organiser’s Stellar Creates’ social media for future reveals.

  1. It’s a Magical & Unique Way To Spend The Evening In Stewart Park

Nightfall promises a unique culture crawl beneath the winter stars. Stroll through a wonderland of glowing installations and illuminated paths, where every step reveals new bursts of creativity, light and colour. As you wander, the playful sparkle of light artworks dances across Stewart Park, inviting you to pause, play, and snap photos that capture the magic of the season. Whether you’re attending with family, or friends, Nightfall offers the perfect setting to make memories that will brighten even the longest winter nights.

  1. Take Advantage of an Off-peak Sunday Discounts

Take advantage of a cheeky #Nightfall25 special discount which are currently available for off peak Sunday night slots at 8:30pm, 8:45pm, and 9pm. This is automatically applied to your ticket purchase, making your magical evening a little lighter on the wallet. So, whether you’re planning a date night with a difference or exploring with friends, Nightfall offers a spectacular trail of interactive light artworks that ends with folks enjoying street food, live DJs, a hot chocolate or something a little stronger!

  1. Feast Under the Stars & Enjoy Festive Drinks

The #Nightfall25 trail wraps up with a dazzling street food village, featuring some of the region’s top local foodie businesses. From loaded fries and freshly baked pizza to indulgent puddings and marshmallow-topped hot chocolates, there’s something to satisfy every appetite—plus plenty of choices for vegetarians, vegans, and those gluten-free.

Raise a glass of mulled wine, fizz, or enjoy a curated cocktail or mocktail while local DJs spin your favourite tracks. The vibrant atmosphere, great music, and delicious drinks guarantee a night to kick off the festive season in style.

  1. Enjoy Creative Family Adventures

Nightfall isn’t just an event—it’s a creative experience for the whole family. Artist-led workshops, interactive installations, storytelling and pop-up performances invite all ages to unleash their imaginations and get creative together!

Folks can dance the night away under a giant mirrorball made from brightly coloured mirrored pieces, creating rainbow patterns that will make your head spin (in the best way possible!). This giant mirrorball will be the perfect backdrop for a silent disco beneath the stars; so grab a set of headphones and have a boogie.

  1. The #Nightfall25 Programme Is the best yet

Organisers have only revealed a few teasers so far – they’ve got plenty of amazing stuff in store! Ahead of the event, they’ve been revealing nearly the whole programme, so folks can get really excited ahead of their visit.

You can stay in the loop for programme announcements by connecting with organisers Stellar Creates on Facebook or Instagram or sign up for their newsletter for the latest updates and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks of what’s still to come.

We can’t wait to see Tees Valley families, friends, and festival-goers come together to celebrate the extraordinary magic of light this winter. Join us at Nightfall and make memories you’ll cherish all year long!
