Classic Seaside Fun: Best Amusements to Visit This Summer in Tees Valley

Blog | Published on: 12th August 2025

Looking for a classic family day out that won’t break the bank but delivers big on fun? The Tees Valley has you covered with its nostalgic, joy-filled amusement arcades dotted along the coast. From flashing lights to clinking coins, these spots bring back all the retro vibes and keep the kids happy for hours. Add in a good dose of ice cream and sea air, and you’ve got yourself the perfect summer outing.

Here are a few of our favourite seaside spots to check out:

Redcar Seafront Amusements

Redcar’s bustling seafront is home to a long line of arcades filled with claw machines, 2p pushers, and ride-on games that’ll have both kids and grown-ups grinning. There are also a few small fairground rides nearby for added fun, and you’re just steps from the beach.

Don’t miss: A trip to Pacitto’s for their iconic Lemon Top, a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with tangy lemon sorbet. A local legend!

Saltburn Pier Amusements

Tucked away at the base of the pier, Saltburn’s amusements are smaller but full of old-school charm. Enjoy a few games before heading up the cliff lift or down to the beach for a splash in the sea. It’s the perfect mix of fun and scenic.

Top treat: Head to Surf’s Up or the Seaview Restaurant hatch for delicious ice creams with unbeatable views.

Seaton Carew, Hartlepool

Seaton’s classic arcades line the prom, bringing all the familiar sounds and flashing lights of traditional seaside fun. Add a go on the mini rides or grab some fresh donuts from the food huts nearby for the full experience.

Sweet stop: Visit The Front for a cone on the go or pop into Glady’s Vintage Tearoom for something a little different.
