Love is in the air, and Tees Valley’s a great place to spend Valentine’s Day with your loved one.
From decadent dining to cool cocktails, eclectic events and romantic retreats, we’ve got some suggestions that you’ll absolutely adore!
STAY:
Darlington’s Kip and Nook mixes modern, high-end hideaways with countryside charm for a truly unique glamping experience. Check out the Den or Cabin for luxury, or take your campervan or motorhome to one of six pitches – three with hot tubs. If you want a more authentic – but no less glitzy – getaway, chill out at one of Baby Moon’s yurts or small houses in Guisborough. You can even enjoy their Forest Spa hot tub, sauna and cold plunge pool.
EAT:
There are plenty of places running great value, delicious Valentine’s Day set menus so you can celebrate. In Middlesbrough, Bazaar is offering Lebanese and Egyptian treats alongside popular favourites like mussels, steaks and, of course, a parmo board for two! Saltfish Seafood and Wine Bar at Houndgate in Darlington has some fantastic fish courses including Seabass and Surf and Turf to share, on both Friday 14 and Saturday 15 of Feb. Muse in Yarm is also offering up a special menu of the best of modern food with a continental twist.
DRINK:
Hartlepool Marina is the place to be if you’re up for a night of partying, dancing and letting your hair down. Wallis & Co heads up a strip of brilliant bars and nightclubs or, in the town itself, you have the likes of 7Ven Lounge & Terrace and No 8 Bar.
INDULGE:
The Spa at Rockliffe Hall has lots to offer couples in love – from romantic indulgent spa days to stargazing in a twilight spa experience, plus full spa experiences with dinner included. Stockton’s Wynyard Hall also offers incredible and relaxing pamper sessions, with a Winter Evening at the Spa, Cosy Glow and afternoon tea packages
EVENTS:
Music fans can enjoy two brilliant concerts taking place on Valentine’s Day. The Number 1 Take That tribute act Rule The World will be hitting the stage at Yarm’s Princess Alexandra Auditorium featuring the iconic boyband’s biggest hits. So good, they’ve even been praised by Gary Barlow himself! Or for lovers of classic rock, The Fleetwood Mac Songbook is coming to Darlington’s Majestic theatre, with . If you fancy something a bit more cheeky, P*ssed Up Panto is taking on Sleeping Beauty for its latest production at Middlesbrough Theatre.
And this is all without taking into account things that won’t break the bank.
Take a romantic stroll along parts of the Teesdale Way or Cleveland Way. Go on a couple’s cycle through Guisborough Forest or bring back the magic to your relationship with a visit to Middlesbrough’s Fairy Dell.
