Georgian Theatre

Our venue is a 200 capacity venue managed and programmed by Tees Music Alliance. The venue opened as a theatre in 1766, the building underwent a range of uses up until 1993 when it was handed over to us by our landlords – Stockton Borough Council – who have worked with us since then to support a range of events. We host a range of regular club nights to suit even the most eclectic of music fan including Loosely Acoustic, Milestones Jazz, Cherry B’s Burlesque Cabaret, Wired (over 18’s indie band and club night) Committed (over 18’s Alternative club night) and Asylum (under 18’s Alternative night) alongside regular high quality one-off events. Our list of previous performers is huge. In addition to a multitude of home grown acts we’ve hosted the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Mystery Jets, Tom Russell, Martin Simpson, The Kooks, James Blunt, John Cooper Clarke, Duke Special, UK Subs, The Cribs, Sean Ryder, Dick Gaughan, James Grant, Pama International, Clint Boon, John Cooper Clarke, Athlete, Jack Penate, John Shuttleworth, Daisy Chainsaw, Lost Prophets, The Macabees, Breed 77… the list goes on!

Road Directions

From the A19 follow the A1046 (Portrack Lane) towards Stockton Centre. Follow the signs for Splash swimming pool to Church Road, turn left off Church Road past the library onto Thistle Green and right onto Bishop Street where there is available parking. From the A1, follow the A177 towards Stockton onto Durham Road Bypass / Oxford Street. Turn right at the roundabout onto the A1305 and immediately left onto Norton Road. Follow Norton Road; turn left onto Church Street, right onto Thistle Green and right onto Bishop Street where there is available parking.

Public Transport Directions

The nearest train station is Thornaby - walk through the University Campus, turn left onto University Boulevard and follow it over the Millennium Footbridge. Turn right out of the Castlegate Shopping Centre onto the High Street and walk past the Town Hall; turn right down the alleyway towards Green Dragon Yard and The Georgian Theatre. Get the bus service to Stockton High Street and walk along the High Street until adjacent to the Town Hall. Turn down the alleyway towards Green Dragon Yard and The Georgian Theatre.
