This route takes in Hartlepool Marina and the coastline down to the beach at Seaton Carew following National Cycle Network Route 14.
Starting from the National Museum of the Royal Navy – home of HMS Trincomalee- the first section of route is on a road along Maritime Avenue. The cycle route then heads on to the promenade. Continue down the promenade with the beach on your left passing the Staincliffe Hotel on your right and enjoy the views of the sea and the Tees Estuary that this route provides.
The off road route ends at Seaton Lane where you can stop to enjoy the seaside or continue cycling with a choice of routes: Carrying straight on along the The Front brings you to a cycle route through Seaton Common and the Teesmouth Nature Reserve, whilst turning right along Seaton Lane follows National Cycle Network Route along Seaton Lane towards the Fens area of Hartlepool and on to Greatham and Middlesbrough.
