An Evening with Jill Halfpenny and Maimie McCoy

The Tees Valley International Film Festival proudly presents An Evening with Jill Halfpenny and Maimie McCoy.

In this intimate studio show, Jill will talk about her entry into the TV industry through Byker Grove, starring roles in both Coronation Street and Eastenders and her victory in the second series of Strictly Come Dancing. We’ll also hear about more recent roles in major productions in the theatres of the West End and prime time TV productions such as The Cuckoo.

At the same time, Maimie McCoy will tell us about how she left Stokesley to begin her screen career in episodes of Waking The Dead, Taggart and The Bill, before playing leading roles in such landmark TV series’s as The Muskateers, DCI Banks, Van Der Valk and All Creatures Great and Small.

To make the evening even more special, Jill and Maimie will be interviewed by Boro’s own Bill Fellows (Coronation Street, Ted Lasso) who will also ask about the interesting stories, inspirational people and many challenges Jill and Maimie have experienced on their way from the North East to the heights of British TV.
