At Home in Hartlepool. A Celebration of Lionel Tertis
Lionel Tertis, born in West Hartlepool (1876 – 1975) , was one of the first viola players to achieve international fame, transforming the perception of the viola as a solo instrument.
To honour his remarkable legacy, his work will be performed by two of the most exceptional musicians of their generation, James Baillieu playing the piano and Timothy Ridout playing the Viola, on Tuesday, 21st January, at 1.15pm at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre.
