This Classical Café special features the animated film ‘Peter and the Wolf’ on large screen, whilst local professional pianist Alison Gill plays the soundtrack to the film live at the piano.
We welcome back Alison for this month’s concert. Alison is a regular feature at classical café as both soloist and accompanist. She was born in Hartlepool and gained a Postgraduate diploma in Accompaniment from the Royal Academy of Music in London, and a highly sought after musician both in the North east and further afield. As well as the animated film, Alison is going to play a selection of short contrasting piano pieces, which complement the child friendly approach that this concert will have.
As this concert specifically welcomes children, it will have certain features in place, including:
– Bean bag seating for young children at the front of the hall
– Colouring sheets and pens
– Child friendly information sheets about the music and instruments being played
– More interaction with young audiences
– Shorter pieces (in the first half)
– Comfort break in the middle
– Toilet tolerance (we don’t mind if the children need to pop out in the middle of the concert!)
