Kate Wakeling will be joining us virtually for a fun and interactive creative poetry writing session. There will be poetry readings from Kate’s collections ‘Cloud Moon’ and ‘Moon Juice’, activities to spark and structure ideas and an opportunity to get to know Kate by asking her some tricky questions.
Kate’s first collection of poems for children, Moon Juice (published by The Emma Press), won the 2017 CLiPPA Prize and was nominated for the 2018 Carnegie Medal. Kate’s second collection of children’s poems, Cloud Soup (published by The Emma Press) was a Book of the Month in the Guardian and the Scotsman. A Dinosaur at the Bus Stop a new poetry collection for younger readers (age 4 – 7) published by Otter-Barry Books was published in May 2023.
All Kate’s poetry collections for children are available to borrow from our libraries along with a great collection of poetry by fabulous poets.
Free, booking essential. Only tickets for children participating in the event need to be booked. When booking please use your child’s name. Children 10 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
