Displayed at the Locomotion railway museum in Shildon, the Rail Firsts exhibition highlights trains, objects and innovations, both famous and unexpected, that have shaped the railways.
As part of these world-firsts, there will be a line up of early locomotives to explore plus fascinating talks and lectures.
In April, Locomotion will also host a model railways show which will coincide with the launch of a Discovery Trail digital game developed by Teesside University.
