Songs of the North East

International opera stars Graeme Danby and Valerie Reid celebrate the music of the North East with songs and ballads dating from the 1800s to the present day.

A glorious evening of music and the stories behind classics including Blow the Wind Southerly, Waters of Tyne and The Keel Row. Also songs by Mark Knopfler (Sailing to Philadelphia) Elton John (Deep into the Ground from Billy Elliott) and Sting (The Last Ship) as well as favourites from Eric Boswell (The Girl from the Northland, Bird Fly High) and Joe Wilson (Sally Wheatley).
