Apprenticeships are a brilliant way to gain hands-on experience and job specific skills, all while earning a wage. Some apprenticeships will also give you the opportunity to gain a qualification.
Available in almost any industry, apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16.
Alongside on-the-job training, some apprenticeships will give you time for training and study related to your role. Some apprentices spend at least 20% of their normal working hours completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Apprenticeship levels range from level 2 through to level 7.
Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum Wage for apprentices if they’re aged
If you’re 19 or older and have completed the first year of an apprenticeship, you’re entitled to the National minimum wage or national living wage rate for your age.
Some employers may choose to pay above the National Minimum Wage.
