Tees Valley Schools are seeing the benefits of using the Internal Leadership Review

 Mobile

We are pleased to see many schools across the Tees Valley Careers Hub starting to use the CEC Internal Leadership Review tool and in July we held our very first Peer to Peer Review with Laurence Jackson School in Guisborough, Rise Carr College in Darlington and Dyke House School in Hartlepool.

The Internal Leadership Review allows schools and colleges to really quality assure their careers provision, the tool goes beyond the Gatsby Benchmarks and encourages continuous improvement aligned to whole institution’s priorities.

Benefits of conducting and Internal Leadership Review:

What do schools say?…….

“We didn’t previously have major buy in from the SLT. This has been such a powerful experience that has highlighted the importance of careers to overall improvement.

The Careers Impact System peer-to-peer review is the vehicle that moved it on.

It has enabled us to discuss careers at strategic level and established the and positioning of careers in whole school development planning”

Peer to Peer

A big thank you to those schools that have already either completed or signed up to take part in a Peer to Peer Review.

In July we held our very first Peer to Peer Review at Teesworks Skills Academy.  The day is facilitated by a member of the Tees Valley Careers Hub Team and the three schools attending get the chance to present their strengths and priority improvement areas identified as a result of the Internal Leadership Review.  The day is all about collaboration, discussions and challenges are non-judgemental and focussed on solutions.

After the day you will leave with a better understanding of your strategic improvement priorities and how careers can be a driver for whole school improvement.  You will be provided with a written report from the Tees Valley Careers Hub and will agree a set of actions for you to work towards.

Speak to your TVCA Careers Coordinator or TVCA Careers Hub Lead about getting involved – we are here to support you in the process and we’re sure you will get some benefit out of doing it!
