This information is based on data supplied from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showing the percentage of the working age population claiming Jobseeker's Allowance plus those who claim Universal Credit and are required to seek work and be available for work. Please note - Universal Credit is designed so that a broader span of claimants is required to look for work than under Jobseeker's Allowance. Hartlepool completed full roll out in December 2016 followed by Darlington in March 2018, Stockton in April 2018, Middlesbrough in May 2018 and Redcar & Cleveland in August 2018.
TVCA have ceased monitoring this data as of December 2018 as it is no longer a reliable economic indicator of unemployment. It has been replaced by a monthly unemployemnt report at district level which can be found here - https://teesvalley-ca.gov.uk/research-intelligence/edu-emply-and-skills/unemployment/
