Yarm School, Teesside High and Redhouse offer co-educational, independent education for pupils aged 3-18. Barnard Castle is also one of the country’s leading independent schools for boys and girls aged 4-18

Conyers, in Yarm, Egglescliffe and Hurworth are excellent, high performing comprehensive schools

There are a range of providers supporting apprenticeships and technical training creating pathways for our young people.

Further Education

There are a variety of further education establishments to choose from in the Tees Valley which include sixth forms and colleges, across each of the five local authority areas: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees & Redcar and Cleveland.

Situated in the heart of Middlesbrough is Teesside University which is one of only five UK universities to receive cross-university accreditation. In addition, Durham University, Queens Campus, which is the International Study Centre, is located in Stockton-on-Tees
