The first job created by SeAH Wind at their mammoth £300million offshore wind manufacturing factory has today (20 May) opened to applications.
The HR Manager role will lead the recruitment of other staff for the site, which will see up to 750 jobs created over the next few years as the factory becomes fully operational.
SeAH Wind’s facility at Teesworks will be the world’s biggest plant producing monopiles that form the foundations of offshore wind turbines.
As the first point of contact for all UK staff, the HR Manager will have the responsibility of establishing and managing a full HR service, including staff development, performance monitoring, the development of company policies and training plans.
Construction is due to start in July on the 40-metre-tall, 1.13million sq ft building, which will sit on a 90-acre site adjacent to Teesworks’ £107million heavy-lift South Bank Quay. During construction 1,500 good-quality, well paid-jobs will be created on-site and in the supply chain.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “This advert marks the start of a massive employment drive for SeAH’s new factory, which will see hundreds of good-quality, well-paid jobs available for local workers.
“SeAH has already engaged almost 200 local firms to find out how they can get on board with construction, boosting amazing local companies across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool and helping them to grow – now it’s recruiting in earnest to get its facility up and running.
“It’s important to remember that this is just one of the transformative projects taking place at Teesworks right now and there are many more in the pipeline. Backed by our investments, projects and the Teesside Freeport, the UK’s biggest and first to be operational, we’ll soon be seeing thousands more jobs up for grabs.
