Sky’s The Limit For Teesside Firm Working on Airport Business Park

A Teesside firm is looking for further expansion after winning a deal to provide vital services on a major new airport development.

Stockton-based Steel River Consultants (SRC) provides health and safety, cost management and lifting compliance services to a range of sectors.

The firm is now providing cost management services on the development of the first unit under construction at Teesside International Airport’s £200million Business Park South.

The company’s team has been on site delivering their expertise on the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Director of Steel River Cost and Project Management Gary Marshall said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be supporting Teesside International Airport in the delivery of the first phase of the business park development. SRC was formed by Graham Tyerman in 2010, initially providing health and safety before expanding in 2017 to offer project management and cost management services. Bosses are hopeful of securing further work as the airport development continues.

Business Park South at Teesside International Airport will create up to 4,400 jobs when fully operational, made up of 2.8million sq. ft of logistics, distribution, and industrial buildings.

Steelwork on the first 22,658sq ft unit is fully in place with cladding now being added. The building is on track for completion by the end of the year.

Four units covering 130,000sq ft will be created in the first phase of the southside development.

Work on the new link road to connect the business park to the A67 is also now nearing completion after beginning earlier this year.

A roundabout and the link road will provide access to the 270-acre site where the business park – part of the Teesside Freeport site – is being developed.
