Tees Valley Combined Authority is leading a delegation of local businesses to Multimodal, the international conference of the logistics industry.

The Combined Authority, which drives economic growth and supports business throughout the Tees Valley, is working in close partnership with local firms to create a Tees Valley Pavilion at the event, to showcase the wealth of logistical capability and experience the region has to offer.

Seven local businesses will join the Combined Authority as part of the Tees Valley Pavilion including, AV Dawson, Cleveland LGV Transport and Training, Evolution Forwarding, InBond, Lingfield Warehousing, LV Shipping and Redcar Bulk Terminal. Also exhibiting at Multimodal will be PD Ports and Billingham-based Clipper Logistics.

Paul Booth, Chair of Tees Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “A Tees Valley Pavilion at Multimodal will put the capabilities of our region’s logistical businesses at the very heart of the event, putting the Tees Valley on the map as leaders in the sector. Supporting businesses and creating economic growth is at the very heart of what the Combined Authority does, so we are proud to be supporting great local companies to create new commercial opportunities in this vital sector.

“It is inspiring to see that so many local firms, both established and emerging, want to be part of our Pavilion and in doing so have taken on the role of ambassadors for the region to national and international businesses.”

The inclusion of Cleveland LGV Training demonstrates the success of a company supported by the SSI Task Force Businesses Advice Start Up Fund. The training company was launched by former SSI contractor, Dan Wilcox, and his son-in-law Matthew Switzer, with funding and advice from the Task Force.

The Multimodal conference runs from the 4th to the 6th of April at the NEC in Birmingham. To find out more about the conference or if you would be interested in attending please visit, http://www.teesvalley-ca.gov.uk/Multimodal
