Destination Management covers many aspects of how we work with stakeholders, including partners, creatives, businesses and attractions to ensure that the Tees Valley is a lively, thriving and diverse region for visitors and locals alike.
It covers Marketing, Product Development, Visitor Experience and practical Business Support and Development through Training and Events to strengthen ties in the sector.
Our marketing function highlights everything that our region has to offer, from its unique attractions and exciting events to fantastic hospitality, key assets and much more. We’re working hard to shout about the Tees Valley and boost our profile, targeting consumers and would-be visitors with PR, marketing and advertising campaigns.
We work alongside stakeholders and partner organisations to amplify this voice. Holding responsibility for Teesside International Airport, we also work alongside travel agents, tour operators, airlines and other airports to further promote our offer.
We work with partners, stakeholders and businesses to support the development of tourism products. The Tees Valley has a wide-range of tourism products to complement our distinctive natural landscape and the heritage and culture of the region to attract visitors to the region.
We are focused on developing and augmenting Tees Valley’s offer in terms of walking, cycling, water, connecting heritage narratives, food and drink and the natural environment. Our aim is to attract higher numbers of visitors who stay longer and spend more in the region.
Only by giving visitors a first-class experience can we be sure that they will return and recommend the Tees Valley to their friends. We are working hard to drive that positive sentiment and meet the expectations of everyone who sets foot in our region.
We are working with all of our partners to create a great welcome and ensure visitors leave with a fantastic impression of the Tees Valley. We want our area to be a place that people talk up and recommend to friends and family, and visitor experience is at the forefront of making that happen.
Through our dedicated Business Growth Team, and TVCAs Growth Programme for the Creative and Visitor economy we can support businesses to access funding and investment to strengthen and grow.
Support takes a variety of forms from industry engagement events, access to funded programmes and skills development, network development, challenge funds and open calls. Support is available at all stages of business development, from start up to scale up.
From providing a friendly welcome, to recommending restaurants or sharing what’s on in the region, businesses and staff are the face of the Tees Valley to visitors. We can support training in a variety of needs to help grow your business, improve customer service, and raise the profile of your business to customers.
We will support event and festival organisers to help them develop the right networks, find the right collaborators and suppliers as well as help to promote your event or festival through our destination website.
