The day that many of us have been waiting for has finally arrived. 19 July dubbed as ‘Freedom Day’ will see the lifting of most Covid-19 restrictions and a return of even more normality across England.

Go Out Out
It’s finally time to go out out again, so throw on your dancing shoes and enjoy the Tees Valley nightlife.

Throw on your dancing shoes and take to Empire, who are re-opening their doors with updated dance floors and an all-new sound system, made by the same engineers as those responsible for The Prodigy’s sound system!
Check out Middlesbrough’s new mini super club, Stereo Club or spend your night in the stylish surroundings of SOHO, which has welcomed the likes of Big Brother winner Charlotte Crosby and Love Island stars Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake. Now that sounds like a bit of us!
Fancy a dance in Darlington? Awarded Purple Flag status, Darlington is a safe and enjoyable night out and a great place to enjoy a tipple or two. Enjoy a cocktail in Dr.inks, Macy Browns or add a side of charcuterie at Sortie.
Fall in love with live events all over again.
It’s finally time to soak up the atmosphere at sports events and enjoy the buzz of live gigs again.
Enjoy a weekend of music in the Tees Valley in August, with 90’s in the Park at South Park, shortly followed by Olly Murs Summer Tour and Tom Jones: A Celebration Tour at Darlington Arena.
If you’d love to listen to live gigs from local artists, head to The Georgian Theatre in Stockton, The Twisted Lip in Middlesbrough or enjoy live music with sea views at The Spa Hotel’s sun set sessions in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
You can also get your sporting fix by watching the first home game at the Riverside Stadium for the mighty Middlesbrough FC vs Bristol City on 14 August.
