The Teesdale Way Walking Route

Distance: 148 km/92 miles

Number of Sections: 14

Average Distance per Section: 10.6 km/6.6 miles
The Teesdale Way is a long distance walking route that goes from west to east across the North East of England. It starts in the Cumbrian village of Dufton, located in the North Pennines, and ends at Redcar & Cleveland’s beaches on the North Sea. Along the way, the route passes through County Durham and Teesside, stopping in Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Barnard Castle, Darlington, and Yarm. Although it is usually done from west to east, some hikers prefer to walk from east to west, as this direction provides a greater physical challenge and a more remote experience.
