Date: 26th November - 22nd December 2022
Location: Yarm Road
When can I do the Elf trail?
You can take part in our self-led Christmas Elf trail every day from 26 November – 22 December (we’re closed Mondays), from 10am until 4pm (last admission is 3.30pm).
How much is it and do I need to book?
You will need to purchase a museum ticket or show a valid annual pass to take part in the Christmas Elf trail. There’s no need to book, just turn up on the day. During busy times, like weekends and during school holidays, there may be a queue to see the reindeer.
Is this event suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs?
The museum is wheelchair and pushchair accessible. The trail also takes place in the Victorian Street, which is cobbled; and the Woodland Walk, which follows a rough, un-even path that can get muddy.
Unfortunately we do not have a buggy park however you are welcome to leave your pushchair unsupervised at the entrance of the Woodland Walk (at your own risk).
Toilets
There are toilets located on both floors of the museum, these can be found next to the lifts as well as on the Victorian Street.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor, next to the lift and on the first floor next to the Exhibition gallery.
In the park, toilets are next to the cafe by the adventure play area.
Baby Change
Changing facilities are available in the Victorian Street and in the park, adjacent to the cafe.
Breastfeeding
Preston Park Museum aims to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone; this includes parents visiting with infants.
We are part of the Breastfeeding Welcome scheme. Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are permitted anywhere on the grounds but should parents require more privacy, then please ask a member of staff.
Food and Drink
The tea room on the Victorian Street offers children’s picnic boxes as well as biscuits, cakes and drinks.
High chairs are available. Due to limited space within the tea room, we ask that you kindly leave pushchairs outside.
We also have designated picnic areas in the park if you would like to bring your own food and drink.
Accessibility
The park has many accessible paths, however there are also a number of rough and uneven pathways which can be difficult to navigate, especially in wet conditions.
The museum is wheelchair and pushchair accessible. The galleries can be accessed via a lift next to the Museum Gift Shop and on the Victorian Street. Please be aware that our gardens are accessed via a gravel path.
We do not have a Buggy Park.
Our cafe in the park is located right next to the adventure play area and serves quick snacks and treats.
10am until 4pm (last admission is 3.30pm).
