With a maritime history spanning the centuries, it is little wonder that the coastline of the British Isles and the industries that grew from it have inspired generations of artists.
With one year to go until Tall Ships 2023, this exhibition reveals some of the most significant works of art in the collection of Hartlepool Museums Service and explores the relationship between this seafaring nation and the waters that surround her.
