As the nights get darker and your Christmas countdown begins, get yourself in the festive spirit with our dazzling festive events. We’ve got something for everyone!
We’ve found some of the best events taking place across Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar and Cleveland, so you can take your pick…
Stellar Projects Presents Nightfall 2023: Play Among the Stars!
Immerse yourself across 5 nights at Stellar Projects’ family friendly, interactive light art trail of beautiful art works, live music, performance, storytelling and magical moments returns.

Christmas at Newham Grange Farm: See all our lovely animals and festive decorations including Christmas trees and light displays, meet our Christmas characters and enjoy carol singing from our Elves. There’s fun for all the family at our mini Christmas panto – OH YES THERE IS! There’s also a family-friendly trail, drop-in crafts and free reindeer food to take home. Under 2s go free
Christmas at the Dorman Museum: Visit Elf town and meet Santa’s favourite helpers. Join Mrs Claus for a festive story, help sort letters for Santa, take part in some very important elf training and decorate a gingerbread character ready for Santa to enjoy when he visits your home on Christmas Eve (if it lasts that long!)
Middlesbrough on Ice: Get ready to unwrap the magic of the holiday season at Middlesbrough on Ice! You can get your skates on and glide around the real ice rink until late December – Christmas VIPs, Santa and the Grinch will also be making an appearance on ice
Walking with The Snowman Trail: The popular Walking with The Snowman trail returns to Middlesbrough for the 2023 festive season and features vibrant giant sculptures inspired by Raymond Briggs’ heart-warming tale. Take a wintry wander around the town centre and see if you can spot all twelve snowmen.
Big Mouth Comedy Club Christmas Special: It’s CHRISTMAS and what better way to kick off the festivities than with a night at Big Mouth Comedy Club? Whether you’re celebrating with colleagues, friends or family, it’s the perfect Christmas night out.

Go Snow Crazy at DL1: You can create magical memories with family and friends in your own winter wonderland as you share a snowy photo opportunity within our giant inflatable globe, or by taking a seat together in Santa’s sleigh!
Ice Sculpture Trail: An exciting trail of ice sculptures on display, dotted around the town for you to explore. Trail maps will be available online from mid-November and will be available to pick up at the event.
Christmas Characters Meet and Greet: Get dressed up in your seasonal costumes and come and see all our Christmas characters.
Redcar and Cleveland
Festive Evening at Ormesby Hall: Join us for a late-night opening with festive music, food and drink stalls to enjoy by the fire pit and a chance to see the house decorated for Christmas at night.
Marske Annual Christmas Festival & Craft Fair: Once again Marske Community Partnership are organising their annual Christmas festival. This event brings out the spirit of Christmas in everyone throughout Marske. The Pipers will be leading the parade and Santa will be at the back setting off at 6pm from Errington School.
Saltburn Ice Trail: A frosty winter adventure is coming to Saltburn… After last year’s Ice Trail, renowned ice sculptors Sand in Your Eye will return, to place nine amazing ice sculptures across Saltburn, creating a wonderful one-day trail for families to explore.
New Marske Christmas Parade: The New Marske Christmas Parade, led by the Fire Brigade leaves the New Marske Sports Club, parades through the village to the Gleneagles Centre; where you will find Santa, Christmas crafts. music and refreshments.
A Georgian Christmas at Kirkleatham Museum: Community Stepping Stones will be providing us with a traditional Georgian Christmas display, the theme will continue throughout the museum. Father Christmas will be here with his elves and reindeers across the weekend

Christmas at Wynyard Hall: Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with your nearest and dearest at Wynyard Hall. Our beautiful event spaces magically transform into a festive wonderland, creating an enchanting atmosphere for you to enjoy your Christmas events
Christmas Tree Festival in Ingleby Barwick: An extravaganza of uniquely decorated Christmas Trees sponsored by local schools, clubs, businesses and community groups
Stockton Sparkles Lantern Parade: Watch on in amazement as glowing lanterns light up Stockton High Street. Santa and his elves will make their way down Stockton High Street with members of local schools and community groups. Expect a dazzling array of illuminated lanterns, street theatre, atmospheric Christmas music and a live band performance.
