1940’s weekend at The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool

Dive into history this summer at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool! On the 6th and 7th of July travel back to the 1940s during the height of the Second World War.

See our historic quayside decorated for the time period, relive the spirit of the era with some live music and experience a firing display. Families will also have the chance to ‘Join the Home Guard’ and have a go at drilling with them.

Get to see RML 497 and learn about this historic boat’s Learn wartime service and our plans for its future. Then, discover the untold story of HMS Foudroyant (HMS Trincomalee’s former name) and its role during the 1940s. You can also hear the stories of the Second World War through reenactors, military vehicles and militaria all day.

Entry to this event is included with a valid museum ticket.
